RUMSON, NJ - On Saturday morning, October 1, 2011, a group of dedicated volunteers from St. George’s-By-The-River, Rumson, NJ gathered at HABcore’s Coffey Residence in Red Bank, NJ, to create a garden in memory of a very special person, Joan Cassan Winters.

Joan, who passed away in May of this year, and her husband Bob, were both parishioners at St George’s and it was well known that they considered their outreach to HABcore, an organization that provides affordable housing to men and women who are homeless, as one of the most important in this community.  When Joan passed away, many people contributed funds in her memory to HABcore; those funds and the hard work of the St George’s volunteers were used to create this garden for the use of the HABcore residents at the Red Bank facility.
