As
Christians we prepare our hearts in a special way during the Holy Week,
from Jesus' triumphant march into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday through our
Lord's glorious Resurrection on Easter Sunday. We do this through
prayer and fasting, and in communion with our brothers and sisters at
special events. Below is a list of the events planned for the
Atlantic Highlands community. I pray that you will be part of these
events which will allow us to come closer to our Lord Jesus Christ,
washed and forgiven, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. The Area
Association of Community Churches will sponsor the following:
PALM SUNDAY - We will process from 12:30 - 1:00 PM carrying palm branches from the churches in our community to Veteran's Park (in front of Wachovia Bank) in Atlantic Highlands. From 1:00 - 1:30 PM, we will listen to our combined choir, sing hymns and hear a brief homily.
GOOD FRIDAY - We will walk from church to church, reflecting upon the Stations of the Cross, hearing brief homilies and singing hymns at each stop.
